On Tuesday former presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard took to Twitter to announce she is leaving the Democratic party. She charged that the party no longer matches up with her philosophies and accused it of being anti-White, anti-faith, and in favor of open borders. Gabbard also accused Democratic leaders of dragging the nation closer to nuclear war.
Reporting from the Left: Tulsi Gabbard quits Democratic party, attacking ‘elitist cabal of warmongers’ (The Guardian)
Reporting from the Right: Tulsi Gabbard hailed as ‘courageous,’ slammed as ‘fake’ for Dem Party exit (New York Post)
From The Flag: Gabbard is the first female combat veteran to run for president, having risen to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army. She also represented Hawaii in the House of Representatives as a Democrat for eight years. Here’s more from both sides following her defection from the party.
RIGHT-LEANING SENTIMENT
Gabbard’s Goodbye Wounds the Dems, Uplifts Women and People of Faith
Gabbard is plainly correct to assert that woke, race-obsessed thinking dominates the Democratic agenda – and she landed a big punch by walking away.
Prior to her willingness to discuss foreign policy with former President Trump in 2016, Gabbard was considered a rising star of the Democratic party.
Gabbard highlights how women, people of faith, and families are being marginalized in politics – something others have noticed.
“Tulsi Gabbard Didn't Leave the Democratic Party. It Left Her” John Kass, John Kass News: “The quitting wasn’t much of a surprise, not after Democrats and their media allies rolled in political filth and portrayed Gabbard, an Iraq War veteran, as a traitor and Russian agent for daring to challenge the bi-partisan establishment War Party that seems determined to walk the US ever closer to nuclear war. … Yet on Tuesday, just four weeks until the midterm elections, Gabbard landed a whopping roundhouse punch. … The party is deeply in trouble, and is on the verge of losing control of the House of Representatives and the Senate over kitchen table issues that are the result of Democrat policy… Is she wrong in anything she’s said? No. … National Democrats are driven by the cowardly woke who play the race card diving the nation at every turn. If you pay attention to the news, if you’re sober and literate, then you know this.”
“Tulsi Gabbard dared to question permanent Washington's foreign policy” Tucker Carlson, Fox News Opinion: “She's a rising star. … that was the absolute consensus among Democratic Party sycophants until 2016. … So, what happened in 2016? Donald Trump was elected president and then a few days later… Tulsi Gabbard decided to talk to the new president about an issue that she cared about, which was U.S. policy toward Syria, a country that, again, Gabbard was virtually alone in pointing out has an awful lot of Christians in it, so maybe we should pay attention. … Whether Tulsi Gabbard knew it or not, her career as a rising star within the Democratic Party came to a complete, abrupt and final halt. … She committed the one unforgivable sin, which is to question permanent Washington's foreign policy. You can't do that, and everyone knows it, and if you look around, you can see that no one does do it.”

LEFT-LEANING SENTIMENT
Gabbard Is No Politician and Can Peddle Her Right-Wing BS Elsewhere
Gabbard’s defection is no big loss for the Democrats, as she seems uninterested in politics and would rather make waves in the media.
Given her past as an anti-LGBTQ activist who regularly appears on Fox News, it’s clear Gabbard doesn’t take her calls for unity seriously.
Gabbard’s past ties to the Hare Krishna movement could explain her bizarre political journey – and apparent fondness of Vladimir Putin.
“Tulsi Gabbard has left the Democratic Party. Good riddance.” Max Burns, NBC News Op-ed: “Bye, Tulsi. Gabbard’s minute-long good riddance video might have been a bigger media surprise had she not spent much of the last two years savaging the Democratic Party and drifting relentlessly rightward. … Pennsylvania state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta was more succinct in his snark, tweeting, ‘Wait, Tulsi Gabbard was a Democrat?’ … After all, alienation was a logical outcome of Gabbard’s willingness to torch Democrats who disagreed with her… Punditry, with its lack of accountability to voters, seems to have simply been easier for Gabbard than politics. Now the American people will be subjected to her second act as a right-leaning ‘independent’ with an axe to grind. … But in a world in which our politicians are increasingly performance artists and our pundits shock jocks, Gabbard’s final split with the Democratic Party commits the unforgivable sins of being both uninspiring and underwhelming.”
“Fox News Pundit Announces She’s Not a Democrat” Ryan Bort, Rolling Stone: “Gabbard’s bonafides as a Democrat were suspect even as she was running for president. She has a history as an anti-LGBTQ+ activist… Gabbard didn’t come close to winning the nomination and has since carved out a role as a right-wing pundit masquerading as a token Democrat on Fox News. … She’s railed against trans rights, and not only did she support Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, she said wasn’t extreme enough. … ‘I’m going to talk about the need for us to actually treat each other with respect and end this tribalism and divisiveness that’s tearing us apart.’ she said in explaining her appearance at (the Conservative Political Action Conference) to Politico. It’s unclear where calling Democrats an “elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness” fits into her push for unity.”

Cuban Missile Crisis, Space Tourism, Magical Robbery
On October 14, 1962, the Cuban Missile Crisis began, bringing the United States and the Soviet Union to the brink of nuclear conflict. Photographs taken by a high-altitude U-2 spy plane offered incontrovertible evidence that Soviet-made medium-range missiles in Cuba—capable of carrying nuclear warheads—were now stationed 90 miles off the American coastline. Above is an aerial view of the U-2 reconnaissance photograph of Cuba, showing Soviet nuclear missiles.
