Misplaced Papers
On Sunday, the White House announced more classified documents were found at President Biden’s home in Delaware by the Department of Justice. This is the third such disclosure from the Biden administration. Both prominent Republicans and Democrats publicly criticized the president in response.

Reporting from the Right: Republicans demand info from Secret Service on visitors to Biden's Delaware home amid classified docs scandal (Fox News)
From The Flag: We covered when documents were first discovered at an office Biden used in Washington, DC. A special counsel is now investigating. Last year, a DOJ raid at former President Trump’s home in South Florida also found classified documents, which a special counsel is also investigating. Here’s more from both sides.
RIGHT-LEANING SENTIMENT
Biden Is At Risk, Because Decades in DC Builds Up Lots of Dirty Laundry
President Biden has repeatedly denied he was ever involved with Hunter Biden’s influence peddling, but these documents might expose that as false.
Biden’s typically flippant and dismissive manner is one of his less endearing traits, and it’s making this situation worse.
The mishandled documents scandal highlights the Biden family’s shady dealings and suggests President Biden has acted like a crime boss.
“Classified Docs Saga Unboxing Biden Family Business” Michael Goodwin, New York Post Opinion: “The Daily Mail reported Friday about a plan for Joe and Hunter (Biden) to participate in a phone call in late 2017 to set up a multimillion-dollar deal to sell American liquified natural gas to China. Yet Joe still claims, like Sgt. Schultz, he knew nothing, nothing about Hunter’s business. It’s such an outlandish assertion that it raises questions about why he would go to such an extreme to declare his innocence. … Joe’s likely prime role also could explain why (Attorney General Merrick) Garland has been terrified of pressing forward with the Hunter case he inherited. … Ironically, Garland might be stumbling into that very scenario because of Joe’s mishandling of classified documents. If special counsel Robert Hur sees any connection between the documents and the influence-peddling schemes, he would be compelled to merge the two cases — which could doom the Biden presidency.”
“Joe Biden’s ‘No Regrets’ Presidency” Editorial Board, Wall Street Journal: “One of President Biden’s political character traits is his manifest disdain for anyone who questions his behavior or judgment. This has been on full public display since the discovery of classified documents… and it’s drawing him deeper into a political morass. … ‘By the way, my Corvette’s in a locked garage, OK? So it’s not like they’re sitting out on the street,’ Mr. Biden said, with a dismissiveness that would have produced days of commentary about the risks to national security and the rule of law had Donald Trump said it. We can’t wait to hear how the President explains… that a more thorough search of his Wilmington, Del., home discovered more documents with classified markings. This search was done at the request of the Justice Department, which finally decided to act like it is conducting a real investigation. Justice had previously let Mr. Biden’s aides and lawyers do the searching.”

Get It All Out in the Open: Biden Should Show He’s Got Nothing To Hide
The best way for President Biden to clear his name and move on from this mess is to consent to a search from the FBI.
Despite clear differences between the two cases, President Biden promised transparency in the White House, and that’s been lacking here.
Biden’s case is similar to Hillary Clinton’s – who kept classified information on an email server – which was sloppy but not purposeful.
“How Joe Biden could put classified documents scandal behind him” Frank Figliuzzi, MSNBC Opinion: “President Biden’s lawyers assert that they ‘quickly turned all the classified documents over to authorities and have cooperated fully with the appropriate government agencies.’ … that level of cooperation distinguishes the Biden documents matter from the reportedly obstruction-laden fiasco involving hundreds of sensitive documents at former President Donald Trump’s properties. If Biden wants to make an even stronger contrast between himself and Trump, there’s yet another step to take: Consent to a search of his properties. … While MAGA sycophants… are demanding that the FBI execute a search warrant on Biden properties — as they did at Mar a Lago — nothing in this case appears to justify a judge issuing a search warrant. That’s why a consent search — so common in law enforcement that any FBI agent worth their salt carries consent to search forms in their car or briefcase — makes perfect sense.”
“President Biden, There Is a There There” Alice Stewart, CNN Opinion: “In Biden’s case, we’re talking about a smaller number of documents, and an active effort on behalf of his attorneys to return them. Yet a troubling timeline of revelations raises the question: Should he have been more forthcoming with the American people about the discovery of these documents? On November 2, the president’s attorneys discovered 10 classified documents in a locked closet at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, DC, and notified the National Archives. One month later, additional documents were found in the garage of the president’s Wilmington, Delaware, home. None of this was made public until early January, when CBS broke the news two months after the midterm elections. … You have to remember that on Biden’s first day in office, then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki vowed that this administration ’would bring transparency and truth back to government.’ But that hasn’t been the case with this documents saga.”
